We are looking for someone to monitor the delivery of bus services in the City to ensure that services operating under contract to the Council are meeting our high standards and also making sure that the Council and our partners are meeting our wider partnership commitments.

Key Duties

• Responsible for planning and undertaking the monitoring of bus services procured by Milton Keynes Council to ensure effective, efficient and safe operation
• Managing and maintaining the Council’s passenger transport databases
• Liaising with bus operators regarding forthcoming roadworks to agree diversionary routes are in place and passengers notified
• Monitoring partnership agreements entered into by Milton Keynes Council with bus operators to ensure that commitments are being met
• Supporting the wider work of the passenger transport team as we aim to transform the provision of public transport in Milton Keynes

Experience, Qualifications and Mandatory Requirements

• Minimum 5 GCSEs (A-C Grade or equivalent), including Maths and English
• Basic understanding of passenger transport issues and practices
• High level of computer literacy, including Microsoft Word and Excel
Skills Required
• Ability to plan, prioritise and co-ordinate a range of tasks to effectively meet the team’s objectives
• Ability to analyse, summarise and record relevant data and information clearly and concisely
• Ability to articulate difficult issues with sensitivity and clarity
• Ability to develop effective relationships with colleagues both within the council and external
• Ability to identify ways to improve on current ways of working
