An excellent opportunity...

Brent is a tremendously vibrant London borough where the iconic arch of Wembley Stadium dominates the skyline. Spanning both inner and outer London, it is a borough of huge contrasts in terms of its economic, environmental, ethnic and social make up. Brent’s diversity is evident to all who visit our borough and our long history of ethnic and cultural diversity has created a place that is truly unique and valued by those who live and work here.

The council is pursuing a far-reaching transformation agenda that better meets the needs of our community so it is an exciting time to join us.

The Post

If you are a Highway Development Control engineer interested in working on varied development proposals, then we want to hear from you.

The work will be varied, involving commenting on the transport implications of planning applications and pre-application proposals, meeting with developers, managing alterations to the public rights of way network etc. As part of the role you will be able to develop your leadership and management skills by working with more junior members of the team. The Borough is growth focussed, and there will always be something interesting to work on. It is a friendly environment, in award winning offices, with flexible working arrangements. The permanent position offers the opportunity to work on large scale major applications by assisting the Development Control Team Leader.

You will be an enthusiastic, self-motivated, organised person with a proactive approach to securing well designed and innovative highway solutions to implement the Council's ambitions - increasing housing supply, supporting economic growth and enhancing the environment. You should have a strong performance ethic and a commitment to good customer service. We welcome applications from experienced engineers who are looking to make their mark in an innovative and aspiring organisation.
