Vehicle crossover applications are processed by a dedicated Engineer in each borough, and we are seeking to fill a vacancy in Sutton. The post is within our Highway Contracts and Delivery team, and the postholder will be expected to work closely with the equivalent Engineer in Kingston as well as with other Highways colleagues, the public and local councillors. The main duties the postholder will be expected to undertake are the review of applications for vehicle crossovers, liaison with residents, site assessments and undertaking of measurements and liaison with contractors. We are seeking applications from suitably qualified Engineers with experience of working in or with a local authority.

For all roles your work with us will help ensure our highways and transport infrastructure is safe, fit for purpose, sustainable, cost effective and well connected. So, you’ll need to have good communication skills with the ability to put your ideas across clearly to colleagues and customers - both in person and in writing, and you’ll need to demonstrate the ability to manage and prioritise your workload effectively in order to work on a number of projects simultaneously from inception to completion.
