Swindon is a vibrant and dynamic town with big plans for growth. The Borough is 89 square miles in area and currently home to about 220,000 people. Achieving our vision inSwindon is reflected in the way we deliver Council services.

This is an opportunity to join a dynamic and innovative team that work closely together to determine best ways of working. This is a Network Coordinator role within our Street Works Team and will require extensive and up to date knowledge of street works legislation and the codes of practice that cover safety at street works and the technical reinstatement requirements.

As part of the team you will also assist the Senior Network Coordinator with escalation matters and other Street Works Inspectors to continually assess current ways of working and to determine if these can be improved.

The role will include working in the central team whose responsibilities include the administration of the Swindon Highways Permit Scheme. Working under the supervision of the Senior Network Coordinator, this role will require good financial management acumen.

You will work alongside the wider team also to assist in other areas of work within the team such as authorising Permits and coordinating works, Fixed Penalty Notice administration and the administration of Temporary Traffic Regulation Orders and dealing the urgent defects phoned in by the site based Street works Inspectors.

In return we can offer a competitive salary, flexible working hours, a great working environment and a chance to be part of a service that offers excellent career prospects.

You must be fluent in the English language (as a requirement of Part 7 of the Immigration Act, for the effective performance of a customer-facing role). Whilst you need not be a car owner, an ability to travel throughout the Borough to undertake site visits is essential.
