Active travel is an important method to tackle prevalent sedentary lifestyle and health issues and also enhances general wellbeing for people. It is at the core of what Slough are aiming to achieve in the Five Year Plan and helps individuals of all ages to live independent, sustainable and healthy lives.

In the context of the increasing demand on infrastructure with the need to increase capacity and improve the reliability of available transport, the method of travel people choose plays a key part not only on the quality of life for people but also in creating a sustainable and resilient environment for Sloughs’ resident and business community.

This is an exciting opportunity where you are able to take ownership for your work and be a part of delivering value directly to members of the public:

• You will be responsible for organising and delivering events to the community to increase engagement of sustainable and active modes of travel such as cycling and walking.
  
  
• You must possess excellent people skills and be a confident communicator, and in order to succeed you will need to demonstrate excellent planning and organising ability.
