This position requires you to declare any unspent convictions under the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974 (Exemptions Order 1975), where prompted to do so within in the application process. You are not required to disclose any spent convictions.

The Council delivers the majority of highways services through a fully integrated Highway Services Contract, the scope of which covers maintenance and improvement works. The contract is managed and audited by the Client Commissioning Team who work collaboratively with the service provider to deliver excellent services that put the residents of Cheshire East and highway users first.

The Council is looking to fill the post of Contract Asset Manager within the Client Commissioning Team with a person who enjoys a challenge and relishes the opportunity to work collaboratively with others to manage and develop the Council Highway Assets.

You will provide operational leadership on all highways asset management and customer services matters and actively manage contractual relationships with the Council’s highway service provider to ensure compliance with national and Council priorities/objectives.

You will be required to take a robust approach to asset management/value for money, so that roads are safe and well-maintained, whilst continually improving the highway network as part of the integrated transport system for the benefit of the community.

With your specialist knowledge of asset management you will be responsible for managing the contractual performance of our contracts to drive continual service improvement. You will also have the skills and experience to convey complex information to a wide range of audiences. You will have a professional and confident approach and the ability to work under pressure and your excellent communication skills will enable you to develop collaborative working relationships with the team and Service Provider.
