Key Transport Consultants Ltd

Key Transport Consultants Ltd

Key Transport Consultants is a well-established transport planning consultancy based in Bristol.  We are looking to recruit an experienced Transport Planner to expand our team and assist with the production of Transport Assessments and Travel Plans for planning applications

We provide professional transport planning and traffic engineering advice to clients in both the private and public sectors, on a wide range of projects including education (primary, secondary and higher education establishments), healthcare, residential, leisure, commercial, sustainable energy, and office developments. Current schemes in Bristol include the expansion of Cabot Circus retail area, major redevelopments at Redcliff Quarter, Glassfields, Assembly and Finzels Reach, and a pedestrianisation scheme for Bristol University.  We are also working on major residential developments in South Gloucestershire, south Devon, and Oxfordshire, and a major leisure development at Longleat in Wiltshire.

Candidates are expected to have a good degree in a science based subject such as Civil Engineering, Geography etc and a good ability in maths and English.  Applicants without a degree will also be considered if they can demonstrate suitable alternative further education qualifications or appropriate experience.

Excellent communication skills in written and spoken English are essential.  You will need to be able to demonstrate a high level of competence with Microsoft Word and Excel.  Experience in the use of TRICS, TEMPRO, Arcady, Picady and Linsig is desirable.  Experience of using AutoCAD and AutoTrack for producing highway layout drawings compliant with UK standards is also desirable.

Candidates with less than three years’ experience in transport development planning are unlikely to have reached the level of experience required.  The ideal candidate will be a hardworking individual, someone who has a good eye for detail and is a natural problem solver.

The role is typically office based, although you will be required, on occasions, to visit project sites and attend meetings. Site visits may require early starts, late finishes or overnight stays away from home. A clean driving licence and use of a car would be advantageous.

Applications should be submitted by email to [email protected] and include a short covering letter, a CV and contact details of two people we can contact for references.  Applicants will need to prove that they are entitled to work in the UK.  Applications should be received by 10th July 2017
