Role Description
A rapidly growing city like Milton Keynes needs bold, dynamic and innovative transport strategy to ensure that our residents, visitors and those working here can continue to get around as easily as possible.
We are looking for someone to provide strategic leadership for developing and delivering that agenda, making sure that the policies are in place that enable us to deliver a transport network and infrastructure that supports sustainable growth in line with the Council’s strategic planning documents, local requirements and national guidance.

Key Duties
• Lead on all matters relating to transport planning and policy for Milton Keynes Council
• Develop and oversee the delivery of a complex and diverse range of transport infrastructure projects and programmes
• Prepare business cases to support investment and funding bids
• Represent the Council and maintain strong partnerships with external stakeholders in order to influence them and delivered shared objectives
• Manage the workload, budgets and development of the Transport policy and planning teams
Experience, Qualifications and any Mandatory Requirements:
• Post graduate qualification in planning, transport or a related subject
• Track record of developing planning and transport policies focussing on delivery and enabling growth
• Experience of Local Government procedures and practices
• Experience of leading and managing a high performing team
Skills Required
• Development of strong effective partnerships with stakeholders
• Ability to write and present clear, concise and accurate reports
• Able to influence staff and stakeholders
• Able to find innovative solutions to problems and interpret complex and conflicting data
• Able to effectively manageand prioritise a varied work load
