We are looking for someone to provide strategic leadership for developing and delivering our public transport network, building strong partnerships with private sector delivery partners in order to transform bus and rail travel in our city.
Influencing all aspects of passenger transport delivery, this is an exciting and unique opportunity to play a leading role in revolutionising the delivery of public transport in the UK’s fastest growing city.
Key Duties
• Lead the development and delivery of a transformational approach to improving passenger transport in Milton Keynes
• Develop and oversee the delivery of a complex and diverse range of Passenger Transport projects and programmes
• Prepare business cases to support investment and funding bids
• Represent the Council and maintain strong partnerships with external stakeholders in order to influence them and delivered shared objectives
• Manage the workload, budgets and development of the Passenger Transport team
Experience, Qualifications and Mandatory Requirements
• Post graduate qualification in planning, transport or a related subject
• Track record in developing and delivering policies to secure lasting improvements to public transport services
• Experience of Local Government procedures and practices
• Experience of leading and managing a high performing team
Skills Required
• Development of strong effective partnerships with stakeholders
• Ability to write and present clear, concise and accurate reports
• Able to influence staff and stakeholders
• Able to find innovative solutions to problems and interpret complex and conflicting data
• Able to effectively manage and prioritise a varied work load
