Principal / Associate Transport Planner 

Location:         Milton Keynes

Salary:             Competitive, commensurate with role and experience

ITP is an award winning and creative transport planning consultancy – with a clear focus on working in partnership with our clients to achieve more sustainable transport outcomes as a result of their projects.

We are looking for a highly motivated and experienced transport planner to lead a broad mix of transport planning and development projects in our Milton Keynes office.  With 8-15 years’ experience, you will be expected to:

• Manage Transport Assessments, Statements and Travel Plan and input to EIAs
• Manage transport strategy and policy studies for local authorities
• Lead / contribute to transport business cases on behalf of clients in the public sector
• Negotiate agreements with local planning and highway authorities
• Develop and maintain strong relationships with clients
• Proactively contribute to company growth
• Supervise and train junior members of staff

The ideal candidate will have the following skills/experience:

• Creative approaches to dealing with complex transport issues
• A deep understanding of transport policy and current issues
• Highway design and transport modelling experience
• Leadership and management skills
• Well established network of industry contacts and positive client referrals
• Excellent inter-personal and communication skills
• Excellent report-writing skills
• Chartered Engineer and/or TPP qualified
