Stirling Council have a critical position available for a highly motivated individual as the Transport Development Team Leader within the Sustainable Development Team. This position presents an exciting opportunity to be a part of an expanding team and play a key role to transform Stirling into Scotland’s Sustainable City, particularly with the unique opportunities currently associated with the City Region Deal. Therefore, you will be passionate about sustainable transport systems and making a real change for future generations and be able to demonstrate this.
The City Region Deal will see the transformation of the city and its region with a significant impact on the transportation systems. You will be an experienced transport planner with a comprehensive understanding of strategic transport planning. Your duties will include responsibilities for developing transport infrastructure that supports the local development planning process and considerers this in the context of national and local demands. Sustainable Transport Systems are a significant feature of the Local Transport Strategy.
You will be: an effective communicator and a self-motivator; well organised; educated to a relevant degree level; have previous work experience in a similar managerial role either as a line manager or team leader; have a working knowledge of this sector and any relevant legislation; have the ability to work to deadlines and manage time effectively; be able to demonstrate excellent leadership qualities; have experience of managing budgets; and have excellent project work experience.
