Ealing is London’s third largest borough with a population of over 340,000. This is a richly diverse area and transport plays a key role in the borough. An exciting new role have arisen working within the Council’s multi-award winning Transport Planning Team.

Ealing Council has big ambitions to improve transport, with an emphasis on cycling/active travel, plus involvement in major projects such as High Speed 2, Crossrail, Heathrow Airport surface access and massive new developments in Old Oak and Southall.

Accordingly, we are seeking enthusiastic and motivated individuals to fulfil our sustainable travel ambitions.

You will need to handle a varied workload, be results focused, with good written and oral communication skills. A degree in environmental studies, transport planning, education, health or a related discipline, or having relevant experience, is required for this post.

This role involves promoting active travel, working in collaboration with the Public Health team and other stakeholders, in areas such as managing cycle training contract, organising cycling events and managing the successful Playstreets programme.

This role is deemed customer facing and as such you must have a command of spoken English which is sufficient to enable you to effectively perform the role. This requirement relates to Part 7 of the Immigration Act 2016.

This role is subject to Ealing’s enhanced vetting process.
