Sharon Daly (pictured) has been appointed UK managing director of Steer Davies Gleave, a new position. Australian-born Daly is an accountant by training and worked as an investment strategist for the Department of Transport in South Australia from 1994 to 2000. She joined SDG in 2000 and worked on various secondments, including with the Strategic Rail Authority, Merseytravel, London Rail, and Cambridgeshire County Council until 2008. She was appointed an associate director in 2012 and head of planning in 2014.
James Haluch has been appointed managing director of Amey’s newly-formed highways business. Haluch recently joined Amey from Mouchel where he had worked for 25 years, latterly within EM Highways. Amey now has four business units: highways (MD: James Haluch); utilities and facilities management (MD: Dan Holland), consulting & rail (MD: Nicola Hindle); and environmental services (MD: Rob Edmondson). Amey’s chief executive officer is Andy Milner.
Ben King is joining consultant WYG next month as an associate in its Leicester office. He joins from Central Bedfordshire Council where he was transport strategy team leader. Steve Brewer has been appointed a principal strategic transport planner at Central Bedfordshire Council. He has previously worked for Nottingham City Council, Leicester City Council and Waterman Aspen.
Margaret Daniels and Tim Rigby have joined Landor Links as media assistants. Daniels joins from training centre Angel 2000 were she was a development officer. Rigby joins from Leicester City Council where he was a waste management officer.
Jason Wasserman has joined Network Rail Consulting as its regional director for the Middle East. Wasserman, a chartered civil engineer, has been head of nuclear at Capula since 2014 and has previously worked in the rail industry.
Glenn Lyons has been elected a trustee of the Chartered Institution of Highways and Transportation.
