Chris Douglas has joined consultant WSP | Parsons Brinckerhoff as technical director, logistics. He was commercial director at Transport and Travel Research Ltd.
Shona Johnstone has been appointed head of consultation at the DfT, and will lead delivery of the public consultation on the draft National Policy Statement for airports. Johnstone was the DfT’s policy lead for strategic studies – future roads division, which involved programme managing the strategic studies for the next Road Investment Strategy. She was a Conservative councillor on Cambridgeshire County Council from 1993-2013.
Danny Lamb has joined consultant Royal HaskoningDHV as an associate director from JMP Consulting (now SYSTRA) where he was an associate director.
Richard Ellam has joined transport planning consultant i-Transport LLP as an associate partner in its Leeds office. He joins from JMP (now SYSTRA) where he was an associate director responsible for the firm’s private sector development work in the north of England.
Phil Tilby (pictured) has joined transport planning consultant Vectos as an associate from JMP (now SYSTRA) where he was an associate. Tim Ashley has joined Vectos as a transport planner from RSK Group where he was a graduate transport planner. Tilby and Ashley are both based in Vectos’s Manchester office, which now has 30 staff.
Consultant SCP has appointed two new associate directors. Aimee Hanson joins from WSP where she was an associate. Richard Carr joins from Sandersons Associates where he was an associate director.
Gatwick Airport has appointed Tim Norwood as its new chief planning officer, succeeding Alastair McDermid who led its (unsuccessful) second runway campaign. Norwood will lead a review of the airport’s masterplan and oversee Gatwick’s response to the Government’s draft National Policy Statement on airports. He was EDF Energy’s chief planning officer, securing consent for the new Hinkley Point C nuclear power station. Before joining EDF, he spent more than ten years at airport operator BAA, including as head of planning for Heathrow’s expansion. McDermid will continue to advise Gatwick Airport.
Lee Rushbrooke has been appointed chairman of the Highways Term Maintenance Association, taking over from Richard Chinn. Rushbrooke is chief executive of Colas UK. Chinn is director of highways services at Mott MacDonald.
