ONE YEAR FIXED TERM CONTRACT/SECONDMENT OPPORTUNITY FOR LBE EMPLOYEES WITH A POSSIBLE EXTENSION
Ealing is a richly diverse authority with a population of over 340,000. It is London’s third largest borough and transport plays a key role in the borough. Working within the council’s multi-award winning Transport Planning Team, a new role has arisen to support our expanding school travel planning function.
The council has an ambitious agenda to build on its school travel programme, working with over 100 schools to promote healthy and safe active travel, aiming to embed cycling in all its schools, as well as promote walking and road safety. Accordingly we are seeking an enthusiastic and motivated individual to drive forward and manage projects and programmes aimed at encouraging sustainable travel and healthy behaviour in our schools.
The key skills being sought for this post are:
You will need the ability to work under pressure, be results focused, with well-developed communication and influencing skills, and be able to pro-actively manage suppliers and diverse stakeholders.
You will also be able to demonstrate a track record of project management, work on promoting healthy travel behaviour and working within budget and deadlines.
A degree in environmental studies, transport planning, education, health or a related discipline, or having relevant experience, is required for this post.
Ealing council is committed to safeguarding children and vulnerable adults and expects all staff to share this commitment. Ealing follows safer recruitment practices to protect children and vulnerable adults. The post holder will be subject to an enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check.
This post is subject to Ealing’s enhanced vetting process.
External applicants will be offered a fixed-term contract and existing Ealing council employees will be offered the opportunity of a secondment. LBE employees must ensure a secondment release form is signed by their line manager before applying and emailed to [email protected] by the application closing date.
This is a one year fixed term contract/secondment opportunity for LBE employees with a possible extension but please note that there is no guarantee that the contract will be extended at the end of the 12 months.
Closing date: Tuesday 31st May 2016
