We’re looking for a dynamic individual to establish and lead the Active and Sustainable Transport function within the Highways and Transport service area, ensuring that the function positions itself as the focus for transport policy development and the delivery of sustainable solutions (majoring on active travel and shared mobility) in the Council and the City.
You’ll proactively lead the development of transport policy and the implementation of initiatives and projects to provide active outcomes for walking, cycling and transport modal shift and tackle congestion and encourage the greater use of public transport.
You’ll need to be a creative thinker who has the ability, knowledge and expertise to analyse complex and often conflicting issues and present imaginative, balanced and practical solutions.
You’ll lead teams delivering the of the Council’s Cycling and Walking Programme including the LCWIP, delivering Local Bus Services, working with the Enhanced Bus Partnership delivering BSIP and ZEBRA Programmes.
