Contract

Cycling Officer - Fixed Term - 24 months

London Borough of Waltham Forest

Waltham Forest

Cycling Officer
Fixed Term: 24 Months
Salary: £29,766 - £30,711
Location: Leyton, London
Closing Date: 19th July 2019

Waltham Forest Council is in a fairly unique position having won Mini-Holland funding of £27 million from Transport for London to invest in the road network and make it an excellent place to walk and cycle. We want to create a lasting cycling culture and achieve our target of ten percent of all trips made by bike by 2020.

We are looking to appoint an experienced, enthusiastic and committed individual to this post to join the Enjoy Waltham Forest Team to deliver the cycle parking and associated projects. The diverse duties are wide-ranging and varied and require flexible working, including some evening and weekend work.

This is a tremendous opportunity for the post holder to make a real difference to the lives of Waltham Forest residents, ensuring that there is fair and inclusive access to cycling and cycle parking in the borough, and encouraging behaviour change towards more cycling and walking as a mode of transportation.

The successful applicant will be passionate about inclusive cycling and the benefits that this can bring to all members of a community. The successful applicant must be able to work with a high degree of independence to deliver outstanding projects.

You should be computer literate and able to demonstrate good interpersonal, analytical and presentation skills. As a team member you will need to be prepared to work with other members of the team on a wide range of travel awareness initiatives.

- Promoting equality of opportunity

- Opposing all forms of discrimination, intolerance and disadvantage
