The bus service operated from the Claverton campus is very important for the University, and we have invested heavily in the infrastructure. Over 50% of all staff and students arrive at the University by bus, and during term time there are over 12,000 passenger trips/day. We are continually seeking to increase this take up but that will only be achieved if services are reliable, and adequate.
The Bus/Transport Inspector’s role is to ensure the safe and efficient operation of bus services on/to and from the campus, and in particular the Arrivals Square on Campus.
Your primary function will be to monitor, enforce and regulate all site operational aspects of bus and coach services at the Arrivals Square on the Claverton Down Campus in accordance with the University’s Code of Conduct for Bus and Coach Services. If required you may also get involved with the monitoring of the University’s services at stops elsewhere within Bath as appropriate.
You will act as visual reassurance to staff, students and visitors to the commitment the University has made to delivering high-quality bus travel, and will be expected to assist passengers travelling to and from the University as appropriate.
The hours will be 36.5 per week working 4 days Monday to Friday excluding Wednesday from 08:00 until 18.10 with a 1 hour lunch (please note we leave 10 minutes early on Fridays).
You will also enjoy a range of fantastic benefits working with us, including:
