Permanent contract on a full-time basis (35hrs/week). Time split between Be First and BRL

Grade 6: Up to £41,146

 

Overview:

Be First Regeneration Limited – the London Borough of Barking and Dagenham’s pioneering regeneration company, in partnership with Barking Riverside London, is currently seeking an enthusiastic Travel Plan Coordinator to lead on the development, implementation and monitoring of a sustainable travel programme for the London Riverside Opportunity Area within Barking and Dagenham.

Reporting to the Transport Planning & Policy Manager in Be First, the post holder will be responsible for all aspects of developing, implementing, monitoring and reporting progress on the sustainable travel programme for London Riverside, including the production of an annual work programme and the development of mode share targets for all new development in the area, with the aim of achieving a significant modal shift to more active and sustainable modes of travel and securing tangible improvements to public health and the local environment.

The successful candidate will have experience of working in the planning or transport sectors in roles which encompass a broad range of scheme development and delivery, in particular those relating to sustainable transport and active travel. Experience of successfully managing projects from beginning to end and a proven track record of project delivery; and experience of dealing with a range of stakeholders, including the public, businesses, developers and local government agencies is also essential.

Highly motivated, and able to use your own initiative, you will also possess good communication skills, including the ability to engage effectively with and influence a range of audiences and interest groups; well-developed analytical and problem solving skills; and the ability to manage self and individuals as well as foster and encourage good team working.
