Nottingham is ambitious to further develop its public transport offer as part of its forward thinking agenda to deliver traffic and transport infrastructure which will support its regeneration and its transformation into a World Class City.

The post holder will lead a team focusing on delivering public transport projects, including introducing contactless payments across services in Nottingham, maintaining and developing the very successful commercial multi-operator smartcard scheme which has nearly £10 million sales per annum, administering the Council’s responsibilities for concessionary passes for older and disabled people, and managing the smartcard ticketing retail network including the City Centre Travel Centre and around 150 on-street ticket vending machines. This will directly benefit local residents and transport users, and facilitate our ambitious local growth plans.

The successful candidate will have demonstrable transport and project management experience with a track record of successful partnership working. Familiarity with ITSO smartcard technology, concessionary fares legislation and transport ticketing is also desirable. The post holder will be enthusiastic and visionary with drive, determination and a strong emphasis on excellent customer service. We are looking for candidates with proven strategic experience, a high performer with a credible track record of success.
