Public Transport Officer

Brighton & Hove Council

Public Transport Officer
Hove
£28,226 - £32,798

Job introduction
Would you like to further your career in sustainable transport?

Brighton & Hove is nationally recognised as a beacon authority for buses with, pre-Covid19, the highest rate of bus use outside of London.  This excellent track record was recently rewarded with a government grant of nearly £28m over three years to implement our Bus Service Improvement Plan, forming part of the Councils response to the Department of Transport’s National Bus Strategy – “Bus Back Better”.

About the role
We are looking for an additional Public Transport Officer to join our highly motivated and collaborative public transport team.  As a key member of the team you will help plan, maintain, and promote innovative solutions to develop the local public transport network.

You will need to work closely with our key partner organisations including local bus and train operators, local communities, and a variety of teams from across the City Council. Good communication skills, both speaking and in writing, and experience of stakeholder engagement at senior levels are therefore important attributes.

The role makes an important contribution to the work of our busy City Transport division so an ability to work within and across teams is essential as is experience of budget and contract management.
