Plymouth has much to offer in terms of an unrivalled lifestyle with a stunning waterfront, amazing green spaces and close proximity to some of the best beaches and landscapes in the country, including Dartmoor National Park.

This is a spectacular waterfront city which will be seeing many exciting changes over the next few years such as the redevelopment of a major part of the City Centre and the waterfront.

We are establishing two new permanent posts as Strategic Transport Programme Coordinators who will each manage a team of Transport Planning Officers alongside project managers and external consultants to deliver a challenging programme of transport schemes.

Plymouth City Council are leading one of the most ambitious transport investment programmes Plymouth has ever seen, with an overall programme of over £200 Million. This includes over £51 Million which will be invested in Sustainable Transport projects between now and 2023 through the Transforming Cities Fund (TCF) with initiatives including supporting for walking, cycling and improving public transport.

You would be working full time within the Strategic Transport Team supporting the Strategic Transport Manager and Head of Transport.

As a client/manager you will deliver exceptional schemes to ensure that the programme boosts the productivity of the Plymouth City Region, enables equality of access and improves the health of our communities.

If you’re ambitious, highly motivated and want to support Plymouth’s delivery of its award winning Joint Local Plan becoming greener as we grow, some exciting opportunities exist in delivering transformational transport projects.

The successful candidate must have a degree in a relevant subject, for example Transport, Highway Engineering, Planning, Science, Engineering or Mathematics.

This role is suitable for flexible working subject to the needs of the service.
