London Tribunals (formerly the Parking and Traffic Appeals Service or PATAS) is one of the busiest tribunals in the country, providing an independent appeals service to around 60,000 people each year.

As Senior Tribunal Assistant, you will be responsible for providing administrative support to the Environment and Traffic Adjudicators and Road User Charging Adjudicators, who consider appeals against environment, traffic and parking enforcement activity for the whole of London.

From the brand new hearing centre located in the heart of London’s legal district at Chancery Exchange, Holborn, you will supervise the work of a small team providing a fast, efficient and quality service to the independent adjudicators, the public and enforcement authorities.

You will carry out case work on the direction of the Adjudicators, dealing with correspondence, enquiries and ancillary applications to the tribunals.  You will also assist the London Tribunals Management Team in the preparation and analysis of statistics and reports.

We are looking for someone who has:

• Excellent written and oral communication skills;
  
  
• Knowledge or experience of working within legal or statutory procedures;
  
  
• Excellent organisational and relationship skills;
  
  
• Experience in using Windows–based software applications (including Microsoft Word, Outlook and Excel);
  
  
• A commitment to equal opportunites;
  
  
• The ability to manage and motivate staff; and
  
  
• Experience of delivering public-facing services in a similar legal/judicial environment.
