We are looking for an experienced transport planner to lead our highways development team.

In the role of Principal Transport Planner within our Transport service you will be lead our team of transport planners providing input into the development process including giving pre-application advice and guidance, formal comments on planning applications, negotiating legal agreements, and input into infrastructure planning.

The Borough will see significant changes in the next few years with Crossrail and High Speed 2 stations opening in the north part of the Borough and the proposed development of Earl’s Court to the east.

Role Responsibilities:
• To manage the Team’s work on negotiating and advising as highway authority on pre-planning advice, planning and development applications and deliver on the Council’s needs in respect of Development Management, Transport Policy, Planning, Local Plan, Transport Sustainability, AQ and Climate Change.

• To manage, co-ordinate and collate the collective knowledge of the division to inform negotiations with developers and applicants and to secure contributions to mitigate against, impacts; and to advise and negotiate, on behalf of the Council, with developers and their professional representatives on such issues.

• To secure associated contributions using planning, transport, highways, parking and AQ policies and the regulatory framework to further the Council’s and Divisional objectives; Secure planning conditions, s106, s278 and CIL funding to progress Council priorities and objectives.
