Kent County Council has an extensive small schemes programme of crash remedial measures, Local Transport Plan schemes, Local Growth Fund schemes and Member funded highway schemes. We are one of the largest local Highway Authorities in the UK and receive over 300 customer enquiries a month on traffic related issues.

We are looking for a motivated person with proven experience of successfully managing complex capital programmes.  The Schemes Planning and Delivery Manager is essential to the identification of safety engineering measures and the delivery of the small schemes capital programme, ensuring effective planning, delivery, monitoring and timely reporting to internal Kent County Council and external partnership bodies.

You will need to demonstrate the ability to manage and monitor significant budgets and have experience of commissioning and managing consultants. Your team will need to form good working relationships with 84 County Councillors and over 300 Parish Councils. Kent is a very strongly Member lead Council.

In this role, you will be required to work with multi-disciplinary internal teams and with our external partners and stakeholders, so excellent interpersonal and communication skills are essential.
