£26,470 to £30,756.

We are looking for a highly motivated individual to undertake the role of a Development Officer within our Highways Development Management team.

As part of a small team based in Delamere House, Crewe, you will be responsible for assessing the transport implications of submitted planning consultations applications and giving transport and highway advice in relation to development proposals ensuring impacts are sufficiently mitigated and the priorities of sustainable development and road safety are achieved. Experience of working within a political environment together with the ability to collate and present written evidence as part of the appeals process would be advantageous.

The successful candidate should have experience in the fields of transport planning and particularly highways development control / development management. You will need excellent communication skills and you will develop and enhance partnership working within the Authority to enable us to meet our goals on delivering sustainable development and road safety. Naturally this will draw upon your interpersonal, negotiation and presentation skills. In return, you will have the opportunity to further develop your professional skills within an area of growth and to influence the Council's economic growth agenda.
