Do you enjoy a mathematical challenge, have experience in transport modelling and would like to help develop transport in York?
If so we would like to hear from you.
A vacancy for a transport modeller has arisen in the Transport Team within City & Environmental Services. This is a technical post ideally suited to somebody with direct experience in the field of transport modelling gained in the public, private or academic sector.
The City has ambitious plans to deliver significant transport improvements across the City over the next few years and this is an opportunity to influence how and where those improvements are provided.
Our recently upgraded and updated ‘multimodal transport model’ runs SATURN under the ‘Cube 5’ platform. The post offers the opportunity for a mathematical modeller to work with and develop models and scenarios using models running under this transport analysis platform.
We need somebody, who enjoys and has the prerequisite mathematical and computing skills to work with complex data sets to turn it into useful and understandable information.
Direct relevant experience in the practice of transport model development and a good understanding of the DfT’s Transport Analysis Guidance ‘WebTAG’ would be a good indicator of the suitability of an applicant for this post.
