A challenging, and rewarding vacancy has recently opened up with our client, a multi-discipline consultancy, for a Principal Transport Planner to be based in their Birmingham office, working across the whole of the Midlands area and into other parts of the UK.

The key focus of the position is the development of transport studies and transport modelling applications. Qualified with a relevant degree, and ideally Chartered (C.Eng., MCIHT, MRTPI), candidates should have a solid technical capability across the transport planning field, covering areas such as transport policy and strategy, transport modelling, scheme appraisals and assessments. In addition, a track record in project management and delivery is also required.

Technical expertise should include the ability to respond to opportunities, prepare fee proposals for client submission, including resources and programme.

A good regional knowledge of the market place would be helpful, and you should have experience in working with the public sector through LA/PTE frameworks, as well as an appreciation of transport planning best practice such as the use of WebTAG.

You should have previous experience of working as a Project Manager with the responsibility of delivering projects to timescale, budget and quality expectations, and comfortable in dealing with clients at all levels.

This is a genuine opportunity to join a talented and dedicated team of transport planners serving a range of private sector clients, Highways England, TfWM, and local authorities.

The salary is negotiable. However, the indicated range is approximately £43-52,000 p.a., plus a range of flexible benefits.
