Are you a transport modeller? Would you like to use your skills to make a difference in central Government?

We are looking for four enthusiastic transport modellers to maintain and enhance our modelling capability and scrutiny through the following four roles:

maintenance and development of the Department’s transport modelling and appraisal guidance to reflect best practice;
maintenance and development of the tools which the Department provides to reduce the cost of modelling and appraisal;
development and testing of the newly-updated National Transport Model;
scrutiny of the analysis of local transport schemes amongst multiple criteria to ensure analysis supporting decisions is of adequate quality.

Modellers in these roles will benefit from opportunities to engage with experts in their field, and also from working as part of a wider multidisciplinary community of analysts to maintain the Department’s very strong reputation within Government for analysis and use of evidence in policy making. Post holders will also benefit from opportunities for training to support both personal, technical and career development, and the Department supports flexible working in line with its business needs.
