Transport for Greater Manchester’s Transport Strategy Directorate is seeking a driven and motivated individual to join our Modelling and Analysis team to support our decision making and scheme development activities for a diverse range of exciting projects. Our Modelling and Analysis team plays a vital role in providing analytical support, insights and business case evidence for the full range of TfGM projects, programs and strategies. Working across a broad range of internal and external stakeholders, the team undertakes strategic transport modelling and appraisal for both operational and capital transport interventions. Working alongside transport modellers and analysts, you will play a pivotal role in maintaining and developing our approach to transport appraisal, ensuring activity in support of investments is completed in a consistent and proportionate way and supports the production of high quality business case evidence.

TfGM oversees transport in Greater Manchester, delivering and improving transport services, facilities and information to make travel easier for everyone. We deliver high-profile, large-scale transport projects, and it’s our experts who provide the information and analysis to shape transport strategy. This is a busy and exciting time for us: under the devolution agreement and with Greater Manchester at the heart of the Northern Powerhouse, transport will play a vital role in supporting growth and prosperity in the UK’s largest regional economy outside London.

You will be experienced in conducting transport appraisal and value for money assessment and will possess the ability to think strategically about the bigger picture while maintaining a rigorous focus on the detail, ensuring that appraisal specification is focussed on key issues that drive value and always responds to the needs of decision makers. You will be at ease communicating complex economic and appraisal concepts and analysis to a diverse range of audiences.
