We are looking for a Principal Officer within the Traffic Control Team. The Traffic Control Service includes two Teams; Network Coordination and Traffic Control. The Traffic Control Team monitors and responds to peaks in the traffic flow ensuring accurate and timely information is provided to the travelling public to allow informed decision to be made.
The post will report directly to the Group Manager for the Traffic Control Team and will provide the technical lead to the Technical Officers and Officers on Urban Traffic Management Control in the County, including maintaining and improving the existing service provision and shaping the future service delivery.
You should have a professional qualification Level 6 (e.g. Degree) (or similar qualification in the relevant discipline) or substantial experience in the relevant specialist field of works. You will also have a management qualification (NVQ Level 3 (or equivalent)) or significant management experience within a similar place. With significant experience working within the specified area of expertise, you will have a sound knowledge of the latest legislative requirements as they relate to the identified specialist field. Ideally you will have previous experience of working at a similar level in Local Government.

Staff will be based at various locations across the County including Ron Groves House in Kidlington, which is the base of operations.
