The transport planning group is involved in a number of high profile regeneration schemes and is responsible for delivering a wide range of projects and services including major capital schemes, road safety projects, traffic and parking schemes and urban realm improvements, all transforming the local environment for our residents.
The successful applicant will lead the team responsible for parking projects and policy matters in the borough, including delivery of the annual parking programme. Highlights will include the roll out of electric vehicle charging infrastructure, car clubs and cashless parking. Three football clubs and the increasing awareness of the environmental impact of motor traffic and the evolving local, regional and national political agenda will provide a framework for the policy work of the team.
About you
You will manage the revenue and capital budgets for the service area and regularly monitor work programmes, performance indicators and quality targets to ensure the group meets its objectives and outcomes to a consistently high standard and in a timely manner.
You will be responsible for a team of up to ten professional staff, as well as managing consultants and contractors.
Working within the Environment Services Department, we need a self-motivated and competent person to deliver our aims efficiently and effectively, whilst also meeting the needs of our members, residents, businesses and visitors.
We are looking for candidates who have a comprehensive knowledge and experience of the service area, who have the right technical, financial and management skills, and will be able to develop good working relationships within the group and with our stakeholders, customers, contractors and consultants.
This is a full-time 36 hours per week post. The post-holder will be eligible to join the excellent Local Government Pension Scheme.

We are working with residents towards removing the Hammersmith gyratory and burying Hammersmith flyover. We are rolling out a 20mph speed limit on the majority of our roads and have secured funding for a number of innovative air quality improvement projects.
