Hackney is London's most diverse, dynamic borough. Reaching from the Square Mile to Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park, this is an area of rapid economic growth, particularly in technology, media, fashion and other creative industries. Hackney has more green spaces than any other inner London borough; some of the capital's finest schools; 1st class transport connections; excellent public services; & thriving arts, cultural & retail sectors. We seek people with ambition, creativity & commitment to ensure our economic growth provides benefits for everyone and creates opportunities to transform the lives of residents.

Hackney Council is looking for someone with managerial background within the parking sector who has a good understanding of project management to join our parking team. Your role will help us make sure our parking zones meet the needs of residents, businesses and others in the borough. This is an important part in making Hackney cleaner, safer and greener.

You will also be managing a multidisciplinary team of field technicians, GIS officers, a Consultation Officer and a Project Officer to ensure that projects are delivered on time.

As the first point of contact for queries about parking zones, you will need excellent communication and negotiation skills. You will be liaising with our diverse communities as well as Councillors and officers from across the Council. You will also draft and present reports to senior managers and represent the Council at public meetings.

We need someone who has a good understanding of parking legislation, traffic orders and parking consultations. Parking can be a contentious issue, so you will also need sound knowledge of operation guidance and the technical aspects of parking control.

At Hackney, we go that extra mile for our people; we offer a work environment which is stimulating, fast moving and supportive, giving you the chance to use your skills and develop new ones within a high profile organisation.
