Transport for the North (TfN) has been formed as part of the strategic response to the changing transport and infrastructure needs of the whole of the North of England. It incorporates the city regions of Leeds, Liverpool, Manchester, Newcastle and Sheffield connecting these cities and the wider regional towns and cities across the North of England, to drive better connectivity, economic growth and better opportunity for all. It is crystal clear that “the cities of the North together can be greater than the sum of their parts”. Devolving strategic transport planning powers through STBs via this amendment to the Bill demonstrates the Government’s clear commitment to the Northern Powerhouse and rebalancing the economy outside of London. Transport for Greater Manchester (TfGM), on behalf of TfN, is looking to recruit the following role: The Corridor Study Lead will act as the intelligent client for the Rail Corridor Study programme on behalf of TfN ensuring it meets the needs of TfN’s various stakeholders and the strategic aims of the Northern Transport Strategy. In the role you will ensure the timely delivery of the study programme, Identify opportunities to integrate to other programmes of work, backed with the rigor of technical reports and research. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring stakeholder engagement across multi discipline programmes of work, influencing continuous improvement and implementing an appropriate toolkit to manage actions, risks and decisions. The successful candidate will have proven experience in rail infrastructure programme development and delivery. You will possess previous experience of working in partnership with the Department for Transport, Network Rail and other national agencies to deliver similar programmes or studies. With proven experience of successful transport strategy and policy development and implementation; you will also possess the ability to influence and persuade governance bodies, stakeholders, partners, clients and suppliers to understand the aims, objectives and requirements of the Partnership. |
