The in-house fleet service within Norfolk County Council (NCC) Community and Environmental Services has recently been restructured, bringing together fleet teams from Norfolk Fire and Rescue Service and highway services to form an integrated fleet unit.
We are looking for a flexible and motivated person with knowledge and experience in the heavy/specialist vehicle industry, to join the NCC in-house fleet team. The role will include managing all workshop, maintenance and servicing requirements across a fleet that includes specialist vehicles, equipment, small plant and tools. You will be responsible for managing the immediate team and liaising with existing supply chain providers to work within allocated budgets whilst providing a robust/efficient fleet service.
This role will also be required to identify and implement business development opportunities, both internally and externally, and requires the following knowledge/qualifications:
• Up to date knowledge of transport standards and legislation
• Certificate of Professional Competence in Road Transport
• Registered with an appropriate professional industry institute
