At Atkins we currently have a number of fantastic opportunities for Project Managers with previous engineering project experience to support our projects in the South East. The roles will be primarily based in Birmingham.

We are seeking a candidate able to demonstrate a high level of project management capability, who can ensure delivery to time and budget on large and complex design projects. You will be a manager with a proven track record in the UK infrastructure engineering sector and experience of managing large scale design and engineering programmes demonstrating proven abilities to manage multiple stakeholders.

The appointed candidate will have a track record of successful delivery on a wide portfolio of significant engineering design projects. Experience of managing construction programmes and administering construction contracts would be advantageous

Responsibilities

• Managing Major Engineering/infrastructure projects to meet client objectives, using cost, time, quality, risk management techniques as appropriate
• Client liaison
• Project requirements/scope definition
• Management of sub contracts
• Ability to manage stakeholders with an interest in the project
• Design Management
• Project Controls

Requirements

• Experience of managing Multi million pound engineering projects.
• An Engineering or Project Management degree (or equivalent), or sufficient experience of working within a technical or engineering environment
• Experience of working in an engineering or construction sector such as Transportation, Petrochemical, automotive.
• Ability to work independently or within a multi-disciplinary team
• Good analytical skills combined with an ability to think laterally
• Commercial awareness and potential to develop business
• Good interpersonal and communication skills - confident and able to present to a wide range of management levels
• Flexible and adaptable, capable of working in a variety of client cultures and organisational structures
