The city of Hull is undergoing resurgence with ongoing public and private sector investment in the city. Following a successful year as UK City of Culture, Hull City Council is continuing its multi-million pound investment in the City’s infrastructure. An increased capital programme means that we have a number of exciting opportunities available within the Highways team and you will play a key role in developing the infrastructure and delivering our aspirations for economic growth and sustainable travel. You will be part of an award-winning Major Projects and Infrastructure team that is transforming the city with its proactive approach and partnership working. Based at offices in the city centre, the Council has flexible working arrangements and is moving towards more smart and agile ways of working.

You will work closely with Highways England and their contractor on the delivery of the £400m A63 Castle Street improvement scheme. You will provide high level, skilled project management support on all aspects of the project, including complex legal, commercial, technical and financial matters. You will be the key point of contact for the Council ensuring the engagement of key stakeholders and partners and establishing links to ensure delivery of a joined up, coherent scheme that meets the needs of the City.

You will be able to demonstrate:
• A proactive approach and an ability to forward plan and deliver
• Proven experience of successfully managing large scale complex capital projects
• Skills in negotiating with key stakeholders and senior officers at a high level to expedite proposals
• An ability to challenge in a constructive manner and manage change.
