Role Monitoring and Development Officer
Starting Salary: £25,562 - £26,585 dependent on experience
Terms: Full-time, permanent
Hours: 37.5 hours per week

We are recruiting a Monitoring and Development Officer to lead on the management, analysis and development of data relating to everyday cycling and active travel in Scotland. The Monitoring and Development Officer will also be required to liaise with Cycling Scotland colleagues and other delivery partners (including local authorities, regional transport partnerships and active travel stakeholders) in order to gather and share data and to create and provide guidance and analysis to support evidence-based decision making.

Educated to degree level or equivalent through work experience. |
Knowledge and experience of working with – or within – government bodies (e.g., local government, etc.) |
Knowledge and experience of developing, managing and delivering projects to deliver outputs and achieve successful outcomes |
Working knowledge of active and sustainable travel |

Experience of managing, maintaining, analysing and working with databases, spreadsheets or other large sources of data |

Special Knowledge & Skills |
Good reporting skills, ability to compose evidence-based reports for and present to a wide range of audiences. |
Experience of cycle counter project management |
Geographical Information System (GIS) and mapping skills and experience. Experience and skills in common GIS packages, preferably ArcGIS |
Project management experience and/or qualification in project management. |

Ability to manage sub-contractors, consultants and agencies. |
Awareness of health, social and economic inequalities |

Ability and expertise with common office software packages |
Ability and experience of specialist data analysis software. |

Excellent interpersonal, written and oral communication skills with good attention to detail |
