Strategic Infrastructure Manager

£40,057 - £43,821 per annum

We currently have a new opportunity for an enthusiastic and well-motivated individual to contribute to the work of the Council’s Growth and Development Department. 

The post provides a great opportunity to lead on the delivery of strategic infrastructure projects which support the Council’s ambitious growth programme. You will take a leading role in managing infrastructure schemes and working with the Growth Team to progress key growth sites and programmes, whilst ensuring that good relationships with colleagues and clients are maintained.

You will provide advice on aspects of design, cost, programme, legal, procurement, delivery and stakeholder engagement and be the lead on managing infrastructure project expenditure, management reports and project registers. Funding solutions and bids for infrastructure schemes will also be developed with the Council and external funding agencies.

The Borough is a diverse one, with dense urban areas around the Towns of Darwen and Blackburn, and moorland to the south, each containing different challenges for transport and the accommodation and promotion of sustainable growth. 

You should be qualified to degree level in a planning, transport related or project management field with professional membership of an appropriate body. Experience of working in a highways, transport or infrastructure environment is essential to the role, as is the ability to be adaptable and to work flexibly in a fast moving workplace. You will also be able to demonstrate previous experience of managing the NEC3 family of contracts to deliver successful infrastructure projects.
