It is an exciting time at Midlands Connect. We are the pan-Midlands partnership of local and combined authorities, local enterprise partnerships and business representatives working with the Department for Transport and its key delivery bodies. The partnership forms the transport component of the Midlands Engine, which is delivering economic growth and improving productivity and prosperity across the Region.
Together, the Midlands Connect Partnership and the Department for Transport have developed a transport strategy that identifies the major infrastructure projects needed to improve the connectivity of our region’s key locations so we can help drive economic growth and power the Midlands Engine. We are also on a journey to become one of the first Sub-national transport bodies, giving the Midlands a much greater say over transport strategy and investment.
About the Role
We are working alongside the Department for Transport and key partners across the Midlands Engine to take forward high-profile rail-based transport projects as set out in the Midlands Connect strategy. The main purpose of the role is to lead on the successful management of our rail programme by ensuring it is delivered on time, within budget and to the agreed quality whilst ensuring that our partners’ expectations regarding quality, programme, and budget are exceeded wherever possible. In doing so you will be expected to manage complex interfaces between multiple agencies, stakeholders and other programmes.
This will be an exciting and substantive role. Success within the role could lead to career development opportunities with this thriving organisation.
