“Forward-thinking, Rewarding, Collaborative, Supportive, Worthwhile”

Our team have used these five adjectives to describe their work in developing the next big transport projects.

With a growing portfolio of work, we are expanding. Do you want to join our team to help develop the next big projects?

If you have the experience or the transferable skills which can support the identification and early development of transport projects, we want to hear from you.

For example, you may have a background in rapid transport or light rail projects, consultation/engagement, transport strategy development, project management, engineering, economics, geography, land use planning, urban regeneration or environmental sciences, in the public, private or third sectors.

As with all our roles within the team, we expect our team members to be flexible enough to support emerging policy priorities across transport and economic policy. For these funded posts, we are looking for two enthusiastic team players to focus on work across the following range of areas including:

• Developing the pipeline of future transport schemes and creating the Leeds City Region Connectivity Strategy.
• Bringing forwards deliverable Transforming Cities Fund funding bids.
• Working at the forefront of the industry to create a 21st Century Mass Transit system for the Leeds City Region.
• Shaping future strategy for the West Yorkshire Bus Network.

Please note: Whilst it is our policy to recruit at SP1 for all appointments, each role has career salary progression, with incremental increases applicable in most cases on an annual basis.

West Yorkshire Combined Authority’s aim is to attract people from diverse backgrounds building an inclusive culture, we welcome applications from everyone regardless of age, race, gender, religion or beliefs, disability, gender identity or sexual orientation. In return we can offer a flexible and encouraging environment that will allow you to achieve your best work/life balance and career goals; with a range of benefits including a local government career average pension scheme and a fully funded travel MCard (zone 1-5). We are committed to enabling working parents to progress their careers and will consider requests for flexible working patterns and job share arrangements.
