We are looking for a skilled professional who will provide strong, effective leadership and direction to a team of transport professionals.

With the Head of Transport Strategy, you will lead policy development for transport in Suffolk to meet the county council’s strategic, economic, environmental and social aims and provide the context for the county council’s transport activities.

Your main focus will be developing and managing the council's ongoing programme of transport improvements, shaping future investment programmes and bidding for funding. You will also lead and give expert advice and direction to the team in preparing responses to planning applications and will be the lead officer for travel planning activities.

In addition to the general responsibilities, this post has a responsibility to be a centre of excellence for transport strategy and policy development, and the development of business cases for funding.
