A Principal Transport Planner is required by our client, a successful firm of multi-disciplinary consultants, for their expanding office in Surrey. This is an exciting opportunity to join a dynamic team and work on innovative projects for a wide variety of UK and international clients.

The successful candidate will ideally have :-

a)  significant experience in the delivery of development planning projects
b)  a good knowledge of transport policy and strategy, development control for local authorities, travel plans, junction modelling
c)  a good knowledge of the UK planning system, masterplanning and highway design
d)  a good understanding of DfT Transport Assessment guidance and DMRB WebTag requirements.

Significant experience is required in the use of industry standard software and databases, such as ARCADY, TRANSYT, LinSig, TRICS etc. Whilst not essential, experience in the use of micro-simulation software such as VISSIM or PARAMICS would be useful.

Candidates must have a relevant degree qualification, and an M.Sc in addition would be welcome, as would Chartered status, or someone working towards becoming one.

The position offers excellent career prospects to an enthusiastic and energetic person. The basic salary on offer is competitive, and likely to be in the range of £45-54,000 p.a., together with an attractive, flexible benefits package.
