Our client is a successful international consultancy and due to a healthy workload their London transport planning team need an additional Transport Planner at either Principal or Senior level. This is an exciting opportunity to join an accomplished team and work on a range of ground-breaking and innovative projects for a wide variety of clients.

You will have extensive experience in transport planning and come from an analytical background, such as mathematics, economics, geography or engineering/architecture and hold a relevant degree. Experience in transport modelling and forecasting of highway and/or public transport demand and supply and/or pedestrian modelling and planning is needed.  

Experience on one or more of the relevant transport planning and software packages e.g. CUBE, EMME, PARAMICS, SATURN, TUBA, VISSIM, VISUM, etc, is required. You will be an excellent communicator, both oral and written, and able to work closely with both private and public sector clients as well as multi-disciplinary teams.  

Membership of a relevant professional body, or working towards chartered status, would be desirable.

The successful candidate will demonstrate proven success as a project manager, delivering small to medium sized projects in the relevant technical area to quality standards, on time, and within budget. It is a requirement that you are accomplished in appraisal and evaluation of transport proposals to current DfT standards. You will be capable of mentoring and developing junior members of the team to enable them to reach their full potential.

The role would suit a self motivated individual seeking an opportunity to establish themselves as a leader within a dynamic team. A negotiable salary will be offered, depending on the level of the appointment, probably in the range of £36-54,000 p.a., together with a comprehensive benefits package.
