About the role
Haringey Council’s vision for the future is built on growth – in housing and jobs – and on helping our residents and businesses take advantage of that growth. Our vision is also clear that the majority of that growth will take place in our priority regeneration areas of Tottenham and Wood Green. Situated in the heart of connected North London and with a host of vibrant and diverse communities – from Highgate in the west to Tottenham in the east – the Council’s vision for the future is built upon growth – in housing and jobs – and on helping our residents and business take advantage of that growth. Our planning team have already embarked on an ambitious change programme. Three years in and we have already secured a place amongst the top quartile of services in London for speed, quality and cost. We are at the centre of ambitious plans for Wood Green and Tottenham and through our work with the Planning Advisory Service, are already engaged in an exciting project to re-engineer our development management process, alongside the delivery of 6 new Local Plan DPD’s.

As a Council committed to personal growth and development, the planning service is now seeking ambitious and talented professionals to join its team. With a commitment to flexible working, and an IT infrastructure enabling access anywhere, we are able to accommodate those looking for flexible working opportunities (including those looking for fixed term and project specific contracts). We are looking for a qualified transport planner who has experience of a range of transportation related projects including assessing the highway and transport implications of development proposals and associated highway agreements. Working towards RTPI learning partner’s status, our “Haringey Academy”, means that your personal development and growth is actively encouraged to support our wider ambition for innovation and excellence.
