Transport Planner
Greenwich is undergoing a huge transformation – In 2012 we became a Royal Borough and host for the Olympic Games. Crossrail is coming to the Borough and we are developing land, buildings and new transport links to create a living and working destination of choice.
Strategic Transportation plays a key role in the regeneration of the Borough and part of its function is the management of the highways network, major transport schemes and initiatives, obtaining transport funding and the development of transport policy.
Transport Planner
Salary: £34,590 to £37,476 (PO3)
Contract: Three year fixed term contract.
Hours: 35 Hours Per Week / Full Time
We are seeking to recruit an enthusiastic and committed individual to take up this key position. The role will have a particular focus on successful delivery of strategic transport schemes within Royal Greenwich’s EU-funded Horizon 2020 Programme, including delivery of an electric vehicle car club, an e-bikes scheme, electric vehicle charging points and smarter parking/logistics initiatives. Detailed monitoring and analysis of these schemes, linking to wider objectives such as air quality improvements, is an important element of this work. This programme support’s the Borough’s transport Delivery Plan, Cycling Strategy and other associated programmes.
You will have experience of strategic transport policy, planning and funding and partnership working. A good understanding of the local government framework within which the service operates is desirable.
You will also need a comprehensive knowledge of computer based systems in order to fulfil your role, part of which includes researching and analysing information and data and reporting at various levels on the outcome of that work.
You must be a strong communicator with good interpersonal skills and an appropriate professional or academic qualification.
