We are looking for an enthusiastic and motivated person to join our Transport Planning team as a Senior Transport Planner.

You will support the Transport Planning Team Leader in the preparation of Havering’s multi-million pound annual Local Implementation Plan (LIP) funding submissions to Transport for London (TfL). You will also have responsibility for monitoring, coordinating and reporting the Council’s Local Implementation Plan programme and ensuring this programme of projects is successfully delivered on budget and in line with TfL Guidance.

From time to time you will provide advice on transport policy matters affecting Havering including preparing and coordinating responses to consultations from external stakeholders. On occasion, the post holder will represent Havering in discussions with external bodies such as Transport for London and other transport stakeholders.

You will have project management experience and a track record of delivering externally funded projects on time and on budget.

You will be responsible for managing our Cycling Officer and be accountable for the delivery of Havering’s Borough Cycling Programme. In your role you will work alongside Smarter Travel colleagues within the team delivering LIP funded sustainable transport initiatives across the borough.

We want someone who is a strong team player with excellent oral and written communication skills, who will be able to develop and build relationships at all levels with a wide range of stakeholders.

The post holder is required to work flexible working hours, including occasional weekends and evenings and the post is offered on a full time basis.
