SENIOR TRANSPORT PLANNER
Do you have a solid transport planning background working with both private and public sector clients? Looking for a good career move? Our client is seeking an ambitious and experienced Senior Transport Planner to join their team based in Surrey.
Candidates should be degree qualified, possibly with an M.Sc as well (although not essential), and either a Chartered professional or working their way towards achieving Chartered status. Broad experience is sought, ideally covering transport strategy and/or policy, sustainable transport (cycling, walking studies etc.), and some exposure ideally in contributing to business cases. Additional experience in data analysis, modelling, development planning, traffic surveys, and/or GIS etc. would be welcomed, as would familiarity in using WebTAG.
Experience on all or some of the following software is also required for this position, such as ARCADY, MapInfo, TRANSYT, LinSig, TUBA, QUADRO, COBALT, SATURN etc. Any experience in microsimulation using VISSIM or PARAMICS would be very helpful. Proficiency in the use of MS applications WORD and EXCEL is needed.
Excellent communication skills are essential, both written and oral, and you must be capable of writing high quality reports. The position involves working in a strong team environment, where you will assist in the management and training of junior staff.
Career and early promotional prospects are excellent for a person looking to progress. The basic salary is negotiable, probably in the range of £34-45,000 p.a. A very good and flexible benefits package will be offered in addition.
