Cambridgeshire County Council
Senior Transport Officer Major Developments
Salary: £32,500 - £35,950
37 Hours per week
Working within the Transport Assessment Team in the County Council’s Growth and Economy Service, you will provide transport advice on development proposals. You will have a particular focus on sites in Huntingdonshire, East Cambridgeshire, and Fenland but there will be the opportunity to be involved in projects elsewhere in the County.
Developments in the County provide a complex range of off-site and on-site transport issues to address, so you will need experience in transport assessment, master planning, and the planning of major development projects, together with an ability to negotiate transport-related planning obligations.
In addition to your strong technical and negotiation skills, you will need to work closely with partners including District Councils, a variety of teams from across the County Council, Highways England, and public transport operators. Close working with elected members is also a key element of the role so strong communication skills, both speaking and in writing, are important attributes.
Ideally, you will have a degree or equivalent in a transport-related discipline as well as knowledge of development-related transport planning and policy, transport assessment techniques, and transport modelling.
The closing date is 27 June 2016 mid-day, and interviews will take place on 7th July 2016.
