One year fixed term opportunity
PO4: Starting salary £39,459 pa rising in annual increments to £42,228 pa incl. LW
The Planning, Transport and Development service is currently recruiting for an experienced Senior Transport Planner to shape and support unprecedented levels of growth in the borough. This fixed term role represents an exciting opportunity to be part of an evolving service dealing with high profile developments in key regeneration areas. With a primary focus on technical advice for major developments in the north of the borough, there is also the opportunity to contribute to wider policy and network development activities within the transport team.

Significant development in the borough presents a one-off opportunity to secure sustainable mobility for the future and candidates will work closely with developers and stakeholders to maximise the benefits of this opportunity for our residents and businesses, current and future.
The candidate
Will demonstrate a thorough knowledge of the relevant legislation and policies as well as significant experience in dealing with transport aspects of major applications.
Will have the skill and experience to provide sound and considered advice to other officers, Council Committees and developers regarding the transport aspects of development proposals.
Will demonstrate the ability to effectively negotiate with developers and advise them and their consultants of the council’s requirements and ensure that these are met.
Will have excellent communication skills, the ability to build strong working relationships, internal and external, and contribute to the development of the service.
